How's Business Terms of Service

Last updated: October 24, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you, the merchant who installs or uses How's Business: Store Reports ("the app"), and SAB Ventures LLC, doing business as Duskford Digital ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app, you agree to them. Your use of Shopify is also governed by Shopify's own terms.

1. The app

The app turns your Shopify store's data into report files, such as sales by product, tax by jurisdiction, your orders for the month and inventory value. You can download a file whenever you like, or schedule a report to run daily, weekly or monthly and be emailed, with the file attached, to the people you add. It reads your data through Shopify's Admin API and ShopifyQL.

Depending on your plan, the number of schedules, the number of recipients and the size of each file differ. A file longer than your plan allows is cut at the limit, and the file and the email say so.

2. Your responsibilities

  • Your recipients:
    • You choose who receives your reports, and you are responsible for having the right to send them that information.
    • Reports can include sensitive business figures and, for some reports, customer names. Add only people who should see them.
    • Each recipient you add is asked to confirm by email before they get anything, except your store's own email address, which Shopify gives us and which we treat as confirmed. Every recipient can unsubscribe at any time. Once a report is in someone's mailbox, it is out of our hands.
  • Your customers: you remain responsible for your customers and for telling them how you use their information, including in your store's privacy policy. Files that contain customer names or emails are kept for 14 days; other files for 30 days. They are deleted sooner if Shopify tells us a customer's data must be deleted (we then delete all of your store's customer-data files, because a file can't be edited for one customer), and when your store's data is deleted after you uninstall. Download what you need to keep.
  • Your reports: you are responsible for how you use the files, including in your accounts and tax filings. Check them before relying on them.
  • Laws: you must follow the laws that apply to your store, including consumer protection, tax, marketing and privacy laws.
  • Customer data: you confirm you have the right to let us process your customers' information to provide the app.

3. Plans, billing and trials

  • Plans and prices are shown on the app's Plan page and its Shopify App Store listing. Shopify bills them on your Shopify invoice.
  • Trials: the paid plans include a free trial as shown there.
  • Changing plans: you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel through Shopify at any time. Downgrading pauses schedules over the new limit, and cuts new files at the new row limit. It deletes no schedules or recipients.
  • Refunds: fees are non-refundable, except where the law or Shopify's billing policies require otherwise.
  • Usage cap: to protect the app, each store can make up to 50 reports a day, whatever its plan.
  • Price changes: we will give at least 30 days' notice before changing the price of your current plan.

4. Reports and third-party services

  • Reports:
    • Files are generated from the data Shopify provides, as it is when the report runs. We don't change, correct or complete it.
    • Test orders are left out. Figures can differ from other reports, such as Shopify's own, for reasons such as timing, time zones, how a report counts refunds, and orders older than the period the app can read.
    • Reports are a convenience, not accounting, tax or legal advice, and not a substitute for your own records.
  • Email and other services: reports are emailed through a third-party email service, and we can't guarantee that a message is delivered, or arrives on time or outside a spam folder. The schedule's time is the earliest it runs: a report can arrive up to about 15 minutes later, and longer if Shopify is slow. Shopify and the email service are third parties under their own terms.

5. Acceptable use

You will not:

  • misuse the app, or use it for anything illegal;
  • use the app to send spam, or to send reports to people who haven't agreed to get them;
  • try to break its security, overload it, or get around its limits;
  • copy, reverse-engineer or resell it.

6. Data and privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. Where we process your customers' personal information, we:

  • process it only to provide the app, and on your instructions;
  • keep it confidential and protect it with appropriate security;
  • use only the service providers listed in the Privacy Policy;
  • help you answer your customers' privacy requests;
  • delete it when Shopify tells us to, including after you uninstall the app.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the app available and working, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change or improve features, and we will tell you before any change that significantly reduces what your plan includes.

8. Ownership

We own the app and everything in it. You own your store data and the report files made from it. If you send us feedback, we may use it without any obligation to you.

9. Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data;
  • our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100 if you used only the free plan.

11. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your store, the recipients you add and what you send them, your use of the reports, your dealings with your customers, or your breach of these terms.

12. Ending the agreement

  • You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app.
  • We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or misuse the app.

Your store's data, including your report files, is deleted after you uninstall, as the Privacy Policy describes. Sections 4 and 8 to 13 continue to apply after the agreement ends.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA. Disputes will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Wyoming.

14. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we will tell you before it takes effect, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
